The HCCSC Board of Trustees approved the following redistricting boundaries at the June 13, 2011 regular meeting.

A. The boundary line for the Salamonie district was moved North to 600 South and includes Chapel Road. Elementary students residing in this area will attend Salamonie School beginning with the 2011-2012 school year.

B. The Horace Mann district was divided into three areas:

1. Students residing West of Etna Ave. will attend Andrews Elementary

2. Students residing East of Etna Ave. & West of Charles St. will attend Lancaster Elementary

3. Students residing on both sides of Charles St. and East will attend Lincoln Elementary

HCCSC will offer school choice for the 2011-2012 school year for families in the former Horace Mann attendance area. Families in the redistricted portion of the former Lancaster area will have the choice to continue to attend Lancaster on school choice or begin attending Salamonie in the fall of 2011. The deadline for declaring school choice will be the Indiana Department of Education Membership (ADM) count day anticipated to be September 16, 2011.

Within the next two weeks HCCSC will be contacting families by mail and phone with additional information regarding the new boundaries and the school choice forms. School choice will allow families in the former Horace Mann district to list at least two choices of buildings they would like for their child(ren) to attend.
